Note: The customer MUST be able to ActiveSync data between the Audiovox XV6600 (Harrier) and the Windows computer. If the customer cannot sync using ActiveSync via the cradle, then ActiveSync via Bluetooth will not work either.

  1. From the Windows desktop, select Start > Control Panel > Bluetooth Devices. Highlight the device and click Properties.

  1. From the Services tab, ensure that Serial port (SPP) Bluetooth Serial Port is checked and click OK.

  1. Select the COM Ports tab and make note of the port on which the Serial port (SPP) Bluetooth Serial Port is installed (in the example below; COM 4) then click OK. Note: ActiveSync only supports virtual com ports 0 through 9. If the Bluetooth Serial Port is installed on a port number higher than 9, advise the user to contact the manufacturer or IT support staff for assistance.

  1. Remove the device from the cradle and launch ActiveSync from the Windows PC. From the ActiveSync interface, select File > Connection Settings.

  1. Enable Allow serial cable or infrared connection to this COM port. From the pick list, select the same COM port that the Bluetooth Serial Port is installed on (refer to Steps 1 through 3) then click OK.

  1. From the Harrier device, tap the Bluetooth icon (located in the bottom-right corner of the display) and select Bluetooth Manager. Also, verify the status of the Bluetooth module. Turn Bluetooth OFF (displayed in the menu), indicates that Bluetooth is currently enabled.

  1. From the Bluetooth Manager, tap New.

  1. Select ActiveSync via Bluetooth and tap Next > Next > Next.

  1. Select the target PC to initiate discovery.

  1. Once discovery is complete, tap Finish. The connection will automatically be tested.

  1. During the original setup of ActiveSync via Bluetooth, the user will be prompted (on the PC) to select Always allow this device to access this service. In most cases this should be enabled. If the user does not enable this action the PC will always prompt for the Bluetooth Service Authentication. Click OK once the decision is made.

  1. A new shortcut for ActiveSync will be created in Bluetooth Manager > My Shortcuts. To initiate an ActiveSync via Bluetooth (from the Harrier):
    1. Select Bluetooth Manager
    2. Select the My Shortcuts tab
    3. Tap and hold on the ActiveSync icon
    4. Tap Connect.

  1. Next, the user may need to configure an ActiveSync Partnership if they have never done so in the past. From the Windows desktop, select Standard Partnership and click Next.

  1. Select Synchronize with this desktop computer and click Next.

  1. Select Yes, I want to synchronize with only this computer and click Next.

  1. Select the desired options for synchronization and click Next.

  1. Click Finish.

  1. ActiveSync will automatically initiate a synchronization operation.
